The Hidden History of Devon Folklore is an illustrated exploration of Devon’s folklore, and rather than simply retelling Devon’s folklore, it draws on original archival research to trace how each legend evolved through newspapers, forgotten books, and eyewitness accounts.
This book treats folklore as an investigation rather than a collection. It invites readers down the research rabbit hole while using accessible storytelling to appeal to general readers as well as folklore and history enthusiasts. It offers new details and accounts of tales readers may already know, but also features obscure, forgotten tales that many locals have never heard of.

The Folklore Archive is an ongoing collection of forgotten folklore, curious newspaper discoveries, and original pen-and-ink illustrations inspired by Britain’s folklore.
Previous issues remain available to read in the archive, while subscribers receive every new edition by email as soon as it’s published.
