This time last week, I was still enjoying Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Berlin and soaking up all the Evercold and new content reveals. It was such a fantastic weekend on so many levels. Not only did we get plenty of juicy new information about our favourite game, but Fan Fest also brings like-minded players together and lets us channel our Warriors of Light in the flesh.
I also got to spend the weekend with some of my absolute favourite people. When you work remotely, you don’t always realise how isolated you can become, and that’s part of why I love events so much. I get to catch up with familiar faces, enjoy some real human connection, and apparently be convinced to keep buying FFXIV gachas. Bonus points when someone lends me their good luck because my own pulls suck.
Regardless of whether I was already in a bit of an FFXIV lull, Fan Fest always manages to pull me back into the spirit of things. I had a couple of rest days after getting home, so I was late starting the Patch 7.55 content, but I’ve now been completely sucked back in.
It’s not only the new content keeping me busy, either. I’ve also been doing some general mop-up and finally collecting a few minions I previously missed.
