Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest is happening later this month, on July 25-26, in Berlin, and I wanted to take part in the traditional sticker sharing with all the other attendees this time around. I feel like I especially had no excuse this year, as I’ve been getting back into my artwork.
I struggled to decide what I wanted to do; if I’d had a bit more time, then I would have done a nice image of my WoL. My failed attempt is haunting me from my sketchbook already. In the end, I settled on choosing a few minions to showcase in-game my obsession and throw in a slice of bread to represent the FC. I also wanted to choose some more folklore-y minions to mix two of my passions, so I went for the Queen Mandragora, the Doman Magpie, and Page 63, which felt like a good mix of bookish, folklore, and superstitions.
I absolutely overshot it and didn’t really consider that these needed to be small enough to fit on a sticker, so after all that, I ended up just cutting it down to the magpie only.
I’m not all that confident that they’re going to come out well, but I think I have enough time that if they turn up rather poor, I can always try fiddling with it and order again if needs be.
Final Sticker Design

Like all my pen and ink drawings that I’ve been doing, it loses detail when getting cleaned up in Adobe Illustrator, but I still think the payoff for it looking clean is worth some detail loss. Overall, it’s not quite what I had envisioned, but something is better than nothing.
I should have been better prepared, not leaving it so late in general, but also if I’d thought about it, then I could have asked the community earlier for their recs on where best to get stickers made… I’ll know for next time, where I’ll learn from my mistakes and plan and design well in advance.
