I haven’t updated in such a long time as I’ve been really busy with list writing, writing for Screen Rant, Game Rant, The Gamer, and more recently, CBR. However, now is the perfect time for a new blog post as I have some super exciting news to share – I have a new job! I will be starting in a new role as a Content Writer for a local media company and I am so thrilled to be joining their team. I honestly can’t wait to get started and get back to work properly, the role sounds so interesting with such varied work. It’s very local-based, concentrating on Devon and Cornwall businesses, which is fab as it means we can draw on local history and news for our writing in some situations (and I am such a sucker for local history and legends).
I haven’t really left the house during the lockdown, so I think it will be really good to get back into a normal routine of heading back into an office space and I have really missed having colleagues to chat with. I was super gutted when I lost my previous role, but that corny saying of “everything happens for a reason” seems to ring true, as this role sounds so much more exciting and to be honest – more me. I can’t explain just how much enthusiasm I have going into this role; I am so ready to pour my heart into it.
In other news, there’s still no sign of my cat Goose, though we haven’t given up hope. We have sent out plenty of flyers and posts and everyone in our village has been really helpful in keeping an eye out for her. I’m beginning to wonder whether someone has taken her in not realising that she already has a home, or perhaps because she was still young and kitten-like. My dog Marvel has also had his own troubles with a tail wound recently, though he seems to be recovering well now.
As always, please stay safe everyone, especially as there is talk of a second wave of Covid-19 on the way. Additionally, a fellow colleague of mine that was made redundant at the same time as me is still looking for work, so if anyone knows of any writing work in the Plymouth area then please let me know and I’ll pass it along. He is willing to travel further afield too.
